Vegetable Cous Cous with Girija Mohan PDF Print E-mail

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of Cous Cous
  • 2 cups of boiling water
  • 3 tablespoons of olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 onion (medium size)
  • 1 green pepper (medium size)
  • 1 potato (medium size)
  • 1 carrot (medium size)
  • 2 green chillies

Method

  1. Boil 2 cups of water and add the boiling water to cous cous.
  2. Add salt and a spoon of butter (optional).
  3. Keep it covered.
  4. Chop all the vegetables into long pieces.
  5. Heat 3 tablespoons of olive oil on a pan, slit the green chillies and add to the oil.
  6. Add all the vegetables and cook on high stirring constantly and add salt.
  7. When it is donem add the cous cous to the vegetables.
  8. Serve hot.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup of melted butter
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 3 tablespoons of sugar
  • 3 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • vanilla essence
Method
  1. Sieve the flour and baking powder
  2. Garnish the cheese on the potatotes
  3. Beat the egg yolk
  4. Add sugar
  5. Beat the egg yolk and add the melted butter
  6. Add milk and vanilla essence
  7. Bake on the pre-heated waffle maker for 3 minutes
  8. Serve with preferred toppings

Ingredients
  • Chicken
  • Tomatoes
  • Royco
  • Onion
  • Salt
  • Green Pepper
  • Chicken Nortuguese Spice
  • Cooking Oil
Method
  1. Peel and cut potatoes into cubes
  2. Prepare chicken pieces and put to boil with salt till tender
  3. Fry chicken pieces till brown
  4. Simmer for 2-3 minutes
  5. Stir and add thickener
  6. Put all the ingredients in a casserole dish and bake for 10-15 minutes
  7. Serve with boiled rice or nshima

Ingredients
  • Eggs
  • Mayonnaise
  • Carrots
  • Green Pepper
  • Garlic
  • Onion
  • Black Pepper
  • Salt
Method
  1. Boil the eggs & grate the carrots
  2. Cut all the vegetables remaining in small pieces
  3. Once boiled remove the egg yolk from the egg white and put in a separate pot
  4. Smash the egg yolk with wooden stick and add black pepper, salt and mayonnaise
  5. Add the vegetables and fill the content in an egg white
  6. Allow to chill then serve

Ingredients
  • Rice
  • Fish fillet
  • Flour
  • Ginger
  • Spices
  • Carrots
  • Butter
  • Salt
  • Tomatoes
  • Onions
Method
  1. Boil the fish with garlic ginger and onion
  2. Melt the butter then mix with flour and milk
  3. Cook for 10 minutes until it becomes thick
  4. Add the cooked fish to the white sauce
  5. Let it simmer for 5 minutes
  6. Serve with preferred dish
